Joseph graduated from Brandeis University and began his professional career by working in real estate as a developer, agent and home finance expert, during which time he learned the intricacies of business and finance. In 2008, Joseph moved to Los Angeles to pursue his lifelong dream of working in the restaurant business. There he worked for several delicatessens with the intent of gleaning information and valuable experience about opening and running his own business. With his sights set on a formal culinary education, Joseph attended the prestigious Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone in Napa, California where he spent over two years. Following the CIA Joseph secured a 6-month externship at the Michelin Guide recommended El Dorado Kitchen in Sonoma, California.
Upon graduation, Joseph returned to Los Angeles to build his own restaurant concept where he developed the beginnings of Persona Wood Fired Pizzeria. A chance encounter at the 2012 Pizza Expo led Joseph to Glenn Cybulski, World Pizza Champion and Pizzaiolo. Shortly after meeting, the two worked tirelessly to launch their vision and Persona Wood Fired Pizzeria opened its doors for business in Santa Barbara on February 16, 2013.
